VRL looking to exit its wind power business
Logistics and transport major VRL Logistics Ltd (VRL) is looking at exiting its 42.5 Mw wind power venture at Mundargi in Gadag district of Karnataka, because of delayed receivables from the sale of power as well as its high operational costs. The Hubli-based company had forayed into the wind energy business in 2007 by setting up the venture for Rs 250 crore.

ITC flares up to 52-week high

ITC flared up to a fresh 52-week high of Rs 270, and finally settled with a gain of 3.5% at Rs 269. The stock opened at Rs 261, and is now trading at Rs 267, up almost 3%. The counter has seen significantly higher volumes of around 536,973 shares as against its two-week average daily traded volumes of around 441,112 shares on the BSE. The company had recently increased prices of two of its cigarette brands, India Kings and Benson & Hedges, by Rs 10 and Rs 5, respectively.
